The Uzbekistan Football Association fully supports FIFA and its President, Gianni Infantino

Today, FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Uzbekistan.

During his visit, the FIFA President, together with the leadership of the Uzbekistan Football Association, visited a number of projects aimed at developing the country’s football infrastructure.

Gianni Infantino visited the new Yangi Tashkent Stadium, currently under construction in Tashkent. The FIFA President was briefed on the progress of construction works, the stadium’s infrastructure, and the facilities being developed to ensure the successful hosting of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which is planned to be held in Uzbekistan.

The FIFA President also met with members of the Uzbekistan national team and held a warm and friendly meeting with the players. The discussions focused on the present and future of football in Uzbekistan, the national team’s participation on the international stage, and prospects for the further development of football in the country.

On September 30, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was received by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The meeting focused on the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup, to be hosted by Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, as well as promoting football, supporting young talents, and developing internationally competitive coaches, referees and other football professionals.
Particular attention was also paid to further expanding cooperation with FIFA, accelerating preparations to host major FIFA tournaments and events in Uzbekistan, and advancing the establishment of a FIFA regional office in Tashkent.

As part of the visit, Gianni Infantino also held a meeting with the President of the Uzbekistan Football Association. The meeting addressed cooperation in developing football in the country, further improving football infrastructure, supporting youth football, and strengthening the international standing of Uzbek football.

The FIFA President also attended the opening ceremony of a new football pitch at Secondary School No. 90 in Tashkent. The project aims to encourage greater participation in sport among young people and provide children with a modern environment for playing football.

The Uzbekistan Football Association fully supports FIFA and its President, Gianni Infantino, and remains committed to continuing close and effective cooperation with FIFA in further developing football in Uzbekistan.
